Description: Struggling to find that elusive ancestor? This 3-hour workshop is designed to help you break through genealogical brick walls and overcome research obstacles. You’ll learn advanced search techniques, explore alternative resources, and develop strategies for tackling complex research challenges. Bring your toughest genealogy questions, and work alongside expert genealogists to find solutions. Whether you're dealing with missing records, conflicting information, or hard-to-trace ancestors, this workshop will give you the tools and confidence to progress.


Audience: Intermediate to advanced genealogists facing specific research challenges.


Format: In-person or virtual, including hands-on activities and personalized guidance.

Workshop: Researching Immigrant Ancestors (2-4 Hours)

 

Description: Delve into the unique challenges of tracing immigrant ancestors in this 4-hour workshop. You’ll explore immigration records, passenger lists, naturalization documents, and other resources to piece together your ancestors’ journeys. The workshop also covers strategies for dealing with name changes, language barriers, and finding records in different countries. By the end of the session, you’ll have a clear roadmap for uncovering the stories of your immigrant ancestors.

Workshop: Preserving Family Photos and Documents (1-2 Hours)


Description: Learn how to properly preserve your family’s photos, documents, and heirlooms in this 2-hour workshop. Workshop: Writing Your Family History (1-4 Hours)


Description: Transform your genealogical research into a compelling narrative with this 4-hour writing workshop. You’ll learn how to structure your family history, incorporate historical context, and bring your ancestors’ stories to life. The workshop includes writing exercises, examples, and personalized feedback to help you create a narrative your family will treasure for generations.


Audience: Genealogists interested in writing and sharing their family history.

 

Format: In-person or virtual, with writing exercises and peer review sessions.
